Essex Mobile library service visits Ridgewell every 3 weeks on a Thursday, stopping on Church Lane near the bus shelter. There is a modern, well stocked mobile library with a supply of books and audiobooks that can be borrowed with the usual library card (join online at https://libraries.essex.gov.uk). It is possible to request an item (book, CD, DVD) to then collect from the mobile library (selecting the Ridgewell mobile route).
